What the Other Half Do - Surviving Deployment

If you want to have just an inkling of what the “other half” do when their loved one goes off to war, this is the post you need to read. Some Soldiers Mom hits it out of the ball park as she describes but a fraction of the thoughts and feelings that someone goes through when their loved one is deployed for a year or even more in the Global War on Terror. From the bitter sweetness of a ringing phone for it can bring good news as well as bad, and the dreaded blackout of impending misfortune.

Some Soldiers Mom’s son is home along with his brothers in arms, but there are still family’s waiting for their loved one’s to complete their tours of duty and we need to support them in this great epic. When you meet a family member of a service member, take a moment and thank them for their service, for they sacrifice much more than you can ever imagine. Do what you can, lend a hand, and listen to them when they tell you that the sacrifice is worth the cost; for it is.
