S N O W

A simple four letter word, but for the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, it’s a 4 letter word! Yes ladies and gentlemen snow is forecast for this weekend, up to 12 inches and that could be disastrous since 4 inches has the potential to absolutely shut this place down!

Snow despite all its beauty in this area of the country is completely unmanageable, which is amazing in its own right as most residents of the Washington area come here from much worse weather-wise areas of the country. If this was predicted for a week day it would almost be reaching natural disaster proportions right now, the stores would be stripped bare of every last drop of milk, every last slice of bread and every last roll of toilet-paper. People that typically only drink a half gallon of milk a week will be buying 4 gallons to make it through the next 2 days.

As it is a weekend Snow Storm, yes that’s what the weather service is calling it, still has the potential to wreck havoc upon the infrastructure around here. Home Depot and Lowes will be swamped tonight as the masses rush out to buy snow-blowers, shovels and salt all in anticipation of the big one that the meteorologists will be hyping all day today. And when it’s all said and done, come Monday morning we won’t even remember it and life will get back to what we in the DC Metro area call normal.

Just in case, don’t call on me tonight I’ll be out stocking up on bread, milk and toilet-paper with the rest of the madmen, I mean what else am I going to do, nothing will be open anyways.
