Stand Up and Cheer!

Mr. Benjamin Reichlin in his 2/23 letter to the editor Stand up and cheer? Sit down and shut up; states that he can see no reason for the Republican’s to stand up and cheer, well I see plenty of reasons. Let’s start with Iraq where we toppled a tyrannical regime and freed 50 million people from a dictator.

In Afghanistan we forced the Taliban out of power and returned the country to the people and in both countries for the first time in the History of Western Civilization both countries have adopted constitutions that afford rights never heard of before in Muslim countries. Has the road been easy and without cost, of course not, but it is an honorable road that our men and women in uniform have undertaken for us.

The problem with your view Mr. Reichlin isn’t that I believe you are unpatriotic its that I believe you and the majority of the Democrats are so enthralled in your hatred of all things Bush that you can’t see success even when it stands in front of you. The Democrats have adopted only one policy in their campaign and that is the utter humiliation of President Bush at all cost even if that cost results in the failing of our Country.

You ask us to step back and look at the direction of the country and the answer will be clear. Mr. Reichlin, I have stepped back and looked at the direction of the country under this administration and the direction we are headed in is one that I approve of.
