Web Reconnaissance for 03/13/2006

A short recon of what’s out there that might draw your attention.

The Mrs. at American Soldier writes The latest “I want to let everyone know that AS has been injured. He was hurt in an IED attack. It is not life threatening and he should be OK. But he has been injured none the less. He is taking it easy the next few days before he gets further testing to determine the outcome of his injuries.”

Expose The Left has Gabler Serves As Apologist for Bennish, Blames Student (VIDEO) “On Saturday’s edition of FOX News Watch, the group of two conservatives and two liberals discussed the media’s reaction to Colorado teacher Jay Bennish’s anti-American and anti-Bush remarks. Neal Gabler, the always lock stepped liberal on FOX News Watch, took the position of Matt Lauer and blamed Sean Allen, the student, for the remarks that came from Bennish’s mouth.”

Crazy Politico’s Rantings writes Speak the Truth, And Die? “Dr. Wafa Sultan, who hit the blogosphere after her Al-Jazeera interview in late February, has been receiving a lot of phone calls and e-mails of late. Unfortunately, they have been death threats. In Saturday's NY Times, in the "Saturday Profile" she lets readers know that the price she's paying for speaking out could be the ultimate one.”

Captain’s Quarters writes Yale's Response To Alumni Critics: 'Retarded'? “John Fund wrote about the former Taliban official now enrolled at Yale, Sayed Ramatullah Hashemi, last week in an article critical of Yale's admission of the Islamist. After Fund wrote about the subject, others openly criticized Yale for its acceptance of a man who participated in one of the most brutally oppressive governments in recent history, and some of those critics are alumni of Yale. In response, Yale Law School's assistant director of giving (which means, in the Orwellian lingo of academia, receiving) sent an e-mail to two alumni asking them if they had suffered brain damage:”

Confederate Yankee writes Wisconsin's Shame “U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin) has announced that on Monday, March 13, he will introduce a resolution into the Senate to censure President George W. Bush for the warrantless surveillance of suspected terrorists in foreign countries trying to communicate with contacts here in the United States. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Democratic Presidential hopeful for this unexpected and quite welcome 35th birthday present.”

Michelle Malkin writes WHO IS RAKAN BEN WILLIAMS? “Lots of readers and bloggers are buzzing about a purported "Last Warning to American People" from an "al Qaeda undercover soldier" identified as "Rakan Ben Williams." MEMRI has the translation and details, with this preface:”

Andi of Andi’s World writes Moonbats Heading to the Pentagon “On March 20, the moonbats will be out in full force hoping someone may, for once, take them seriously. They're planning a march to the Pentagon where they will stage a "die-in". Very classy. This will be interesting considering the Pentagon isn't exactly a place where masses of people freely assemble, for obvious reasons.”

John Hawkins of Right Wing News writes Family Members, House Guests, And Illegal Aliens “Do you realize how mind bogglingly disingenuous the pro-illegal immigration position in this country has become? Unless you absolutely pin them down, the pro-illegals crowd refuses to make any distinction whatsoever between immigrants who come here legally and those who don't.”
