The Valiant Never Taste of Death but Once

In one small essay Jerry Newberry writing at Townhall reminds us all why our men and women in uniform are not the uneducated masses that the “honorable” John F. Kerry thinks they are but rather true heroes.

He writes: With 'A' Company: The Grunts
“These men are on intimate terms with fear because they experience it every day. An upcoming mission is at first complained and bitched about in a way only infantrymen can do. But as the time draws closer to leave the wire of the KOP, the troops grow quiet. Fear is something that is real ... it has a tangible, palpable presence. It's a dry-mouthed, chain-smoking, loose-bowel-and-bladder sort of thing. Some of the grunts speak in hushed tones and whispers; some of them don't speak at all. A corporal pipes up with a joke, gallows humor that draws a few nervous laughs. One or two soldiers are lying down, heads resting on their assault packs … one of them quietly snoring.
…But in spite of the constant danger regardless of Intel that tells them Taliban or alQaeda fighters are out there waiting for them beyond the wire they manage their fear. They suck it up … beat it back … and do their job. Yes, the enemy is tough, but our guys are tougher. They are smarter and more determined than the enemy.” (Read the Rest)
When Shakespeare wrote all those many years ago: “Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once” he was speaking not of our fine men and women in uniform but those words express the embodiment of those that protect us. Can the backers of our current crop of neigh-sayers say that they would taste death but once as they hide in their ivory towers and take cheap shots at the intelligence of those fine men and women that are protecting their freedoms out on the front lines?

The feigned support of the left has finally shown itself to the light of day for all to see and the truth is hurtful to them. Already Democratic candidates are distancing themselves from the shill that is John Kerry and his liberal backers and haters of all things military. They know that to be tied to him is to sign their own death warrants, and in doing so they show that they too are cowards for unlike the men Mr. Newberry introduces us to, who know the possibility for death and wounding, they shrink from the potential outcome and deny their true beliefs in the hope that we will view them differently.

We however know what real heroes look like; they look like the men in Alpha Company 1-32 Infantry and all of them wear the uniform of our United States Military.
