Valour-IT 2006 Challenge Daily Update

Day 4 breaks and we find Team ARMY still leading the way! HOOAH!

As of the time of this writing here are the totals by team and the grand total for our wounded troops.

Army: $14,285
Marines: $12,717
Air Force: $12,664
Navy: $10,947

Total: $50,613

Friends, all I can say is thank you for your support but we are only a short distance along the path to our total goal of 180,000.00.

So if you are asking yourself why should I donate to something like this, let me remind you why:
Project Valour-IT, created in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss, provides voice-controlled software and laptop computers to wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand and arm injuries or amputations at major military medical centers. Operating laptops by speaking into a microphone, our wounded heroes are able to send and receive messages from friends and loved ones, surf the 'Net, and communicate with buddies still in the field without having to press a key or move a mouse.

The experience of CPT Charles "Chuck" Ziegenfuss, a partner in the project who suffered hand wounds while serving in Iraq, illustrates how important this voice-controlled software can be to a wounded servicemember's recovery.

Come on friends, we can all spare $20.00, $40.00, $50.00 or even $100.00 donating to a worthy cause like Valour-IT, click on that Make A Donation Now button over thre on the right and help out the men and women who are protecting our freedoms on the frontlines.

It's a tax-deductible donation and eligible for matching funds from companies who do that sort of thing (see: http://soldiersangels.org/valour/irsinfo.html for proof for the cautious).

The mailing address for those who'd rather donate by check is:
Soldiers' Angels
1150 N Loop 1604 W, Suite 108-493
San Antonio, TX 78248
(be sure to put ARMY in big letters on the check)
