If I was going to list all of the reasons needed as to why we need to buckle down and dig in for the long fight I couldn't have said it better than Pam at Iraq War Today does today. Pam is right on when she states:
There are key strategies that the GOP is going to need to implement, and fast, if it doesn’t want to place this country under total DNC domination in 2008. In essence, Republicans are going to have to stop doing what they’ve always criticized the Dems for doing – saying anything to get elected, and abandoning principles to the prevailing political winds.
The Republican's are going to have to embrace the concept of Deep Change and stop saying whatever it takes to win elections and instead fight for meaningful issues...issues that make America better not weaker. George W. Bush had started as a leader who had embraced Deep Change but somewhere around the beginning of his second term he began to worry about who was going to follow along on his coattails and he started paving the way for that person. That cost him big time, especially when he waffled on immigration and amnesty in an effort to secure the hispanic vote. What we can't let happen is we can not let this loss be passed on to our men and women in uniform, we must continue to support them and allow them to finish the job they know they can finish.
I'm going to sign on with Pam when she says:
I for one am going to redouble my efforts to support our Heroes - it's more important now than ever. The anti-war crowd is going to be energized by this election - as is the anti-troop rhetoric. While the GOP gets its house in order, it's time for the rest of us to regroup, and Soldier on.Hooah sister, now lets ruck up and move out!
