U.S. Marines utilize a M58 Mine Clearing Line Charge (MICLIC) charge for the first time at Now Zad, Afghanistan on Sept. 10, 2008. The Marines employed a MICLIC to reduce a known area of improvised explosive devices. The Marines are assigned with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, based out of Marine Air Ground Combat Center 29 Palms.
