Operation: Christmas Tree

A plug for a local effort supporting troops deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

If you take part in Operation: Love From Home - you do take part don't you? This is the perfect extension, now you can send a card and a tree to our troops.

About Operation: Christmas Tree:

Operation Christmas Tree started after our daughter was deployed to Iraq. The idea was born after we decided to send a 'bit of home' during the holiday season which consisted of one standard size Christmas tree. Unfortunately we faced the issue of how to ship it.

After deliberating we came up with the idea of shipping two foot tall trees to as many service members in Iraq and Afghanistan, including our daughter. This was a major success among those that received the trees and because of this we have decided to make Operation Christmas Tree a yearly project until our troops are home.

The cost of a tree including lights, decorations, and shipping is $25. On our site we have provided a link for donations.

You can donate $25 to provide one tree or you can donate any amount that you choose. All donations, regardless of amount, are greatly appreciated. This will help make the holiday season brighter for those who are away from home serving our country.

The deadline for this effort is November 29, 2008, so click on that link NOW! Then go read the testimonials from the troops, you won't be dissapointed.
