An Iraqi policeman stands security in the marketplace in downtown Ramadi. The surge of 30,000 U.S. troops to Iraq allowed the Marines to focus a great deal on training the Iraqi Security Forces. The purpose of the training was to get the forces to a professional level so they can take control of their city.
