MAHMUDIYAH, Iraq – Soldiers from Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) discovered a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device a little more than a mile south of Mahmudiyah at approximately 9:30 a.m. Dec. 5.
The car bomb was composed of 40 57mm anti-aircraft rounds planted in the doors of a red Kia Sophia. An explosive ordinance disposal team was called in, and completed a controlled detonation of the explosives.
No one was injured in the incident.
