FORWARD OPERATING BASE YUSUFIYAH, Iraq – Soldiers from 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), discovered a weapons cache containing anti-aircraft weapons south of the Iraqi capital Dec. 9.
The cache included a Soviet-made SA-7 ‘Strella’ surface-to-air missile launcher and components of a 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun.
The weapons were in a state of deterioration and appeared to be unusable without significant maintenance.
