"You think I was born yesterday?"
{Kids are always trying to pull one over on the old man. Nine times out of ten they succeed. But when Dad gets lucky and foils a youngster's scam, whatever it might be, he enjoys using this smug "gotcha": "You think I was born yesterday?"}
Another variation:
"I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night."
Most kids simply shake their heads and say, "You got us there, Dad," and run off to plan the next caper.
