One Less IED

In Arab Jabour a group of concerned citizens reported that they had found an IED to members of A-Company, 1/30 Infantry:

ARAB JABOUR, Iraq — A group of concerned citizens found an improvised explosive device and brought it to Coalition troops for disposal Sept. 23.

The concerned citizens located the IED and brought it to Soldiers of Company A, 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division.

An explosive ordnance disposal team inspected the IED, which consisted of two 57 mm projectile rounds taped together and filled with homemade explosives.

The EOD team disposed of the projectiles upon completion of their investigation.

Another simple act that shows the improving situation in Iraq. Concerned citizens who ahve decided that the bloodshed has to stop and are actively turnning in IEDs and informing upon other insurgent activity.
