America Goes On is a short story written by Lt Nixon.
A story of redemption and disillusionment concerning a young man returning from the Marines during a period of conflict. He finds himself traveling from California to New York City to meet a woman who he met online while deployed in Anbar Province, Iraq. He stops to visit many familiar faces along the way to New York, and he tries to make some sense out of what has become of contemporary America during these strange times.
