Andrew & I have been testing ballistic eye protection. Andrew is a former Hospital Corpsman HM2 (FMF) and understands the disastrous effects of poor quality eye protection. The results of that testing can be found in their review which I found quite interesting, since their one-year old Oakleys failed their testing.
Included in our tests was the Revision Sawfly, one of the most popular Army-approved eyewear. We also tested a range of cheaper and more expensive eyewear.
We discovered, to our surprise, that older eyewear, even if it is high quality, is brittle and will not provide much protection against bullets or shrapnel.
If you are a shooter of any type, you really need to check out their review, as it might make you think a little bit about the eye protection you wear.
